How long does a brake job take?

A standard pad and rotor replacement on one axle takes 1–2 hours. Both axles take 2–3 hours. Caliper replacement or brake line work can take 3–4 hours. We aim to complete most brake jobs same day. Call in the morning and your vehicle is usually ready by late afternoon.

Do I need to replace rotors every time I replace pads?

Not necessarily. We measure rotor thickness and check for warping during every inspection. If your rotors are still within spec and show no signs of warping, we'll tell you that clearly. We only replace rotors when they genuinely need it, not on a schedule or to increase the bill.

Not without having it checked. A brake warning light can indicate low pad thickness, low brake fluid, a pressure imbalance in the system, or an ABS fault. Some of these are fine to drive short distances to our shop; others are not. Do you use OEM or aftermarket parts?

We use quality aftermarket parts from trusted brands (Raybestos, Wagner, ACDelco) that meet or exceed OEM specifications for most brake jobs. They perform identically at a lower cost. If you prefer OEM parts, we can source them; we'll tell you the price difference upfront. For safety-critical suspension components, we typically use OEM-spec or OEM parts.
